Well, blog friends (I really need to come up with a fun name for you guys!) here I am in Tennessee and it's SNOWING!!! Not just the piddily little flakes we normally get, but real honest-to-goodness snow!
People are panicking and the roads are slick, but we get to close our doors at work at 1!
*talk about a fun long weekend*
So, I'm off to work on closing and setting up for leaving and I'm looking forward to taking pictures of the beautiful snow in the trees that run along the creek behind our house.... tomorrow...
Life is not always black and white. God doesn't always say yes or no. You can't just wait for the definites, live in the maybes.

I'm A Little Teapot...
...short and stout...
...here is my handle...
...here is my spout...
...hear me shout, tip me over...
...and pour me out...
(I thought I'd show off my new teacup, too!)

Wordy Wednesday
Oh my, blog friends! How long has it been? *I’m hoping you’re saying too long!* I’ve been o-so-busy, but that just doesn’t seem like an excuse to not blog for almost two weeks! So instead of being Wordless, today is going to be Wordy Wednesday!
Let’s see… where did I leave off blogging… Christmas, I think. I know that I told you I’d explain about the busy times that were coming up for me in this post, but I never came through. And then I even missed last week’s Wordless!
I wouldn’t say it was a failure on my part though, lovely blog readers. Not at all. I was going to blog about this on Friday the 15th, but ran out of time after work due to last minute shopping, doing my taxes, and packing.
That’s right, I said packing.
You see, on Saturday the 16th in the morning, I flew from Nashville to Chicago to Omaha; from there, my best friend and her (then) fiancée picked me up and we drove to Clarinda. That’s in Iowa. It’s a very cute town! I spent the whole week there with my best friend, finally meeting her (then) fiancée, and trying to keep everything calm… and then at the apex of the week, THEY GOT MARRIED!!
And I was going to blog. I was. I had all kind of good intentions of blogging and doing a Wordless Wednesday while my BF was working, but alas… I couldn’t get online. And truthfully, I was ok with it because I got to spend a whole week with my best friend before one of the most important days in her life. It was such a blessing for me, and I do intend to post photos, and I will blog about the wedding (and about my new awesome teapot!) and about my week in Clarinda, IA…
I just need to edit the photos…

Scenes of a Snowy Day
I was in Elmhurst spending a day with various friends when it started snowing.
And not just snowing, but snowing these HUGE flakes!
It was as if when the snow fell, it collected with other flakes so they could all drop together.
It was such a treat for this Illinois to Tennessee transplant...
Speaking of Tennessee... you know what you're not likely to see here?

"Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up."
I know, I know... it's been WEEKS and almost all that I've been posting are my Wordless Wednesdays. Not good... not good at all. I apologize, lovely blog readers. I have had a really hard time getting back into the swing of things in my life since the holidays and they're about to get nutty again (more on that later this week!) So, I am going to do a quick sum up of my Christmas in Chicago (yes there will be pictures).
I flew home on a Friday and the very next day I was able to spend time with my very favorite people.
It had been a long time since I was able to see everyone all together and the very first time I got to hold my newest nephew!! We celebrated Christmas 3 times the first of which included my niece and two oldest (they’re 3 & 1) nephews opening presents. It’s always a fun time hearing excited shouts of ‘that’s awesome!’ and ‘I want to open it now!’ I love seeing the utter joy and happiness on their faces opening gifts. It’s rare to see an adult have that kind of response to a gift anymore…
Until Christmas Eve when I opened my gift (Christmas celebration #2). My brother the paparazzi caught my reaction to my gift on his camera
What was I so excited about, you ask?
Wouldn’t you be? Since I got the camera I’ve been doing all kinds of playing around practicing and seeing what happens with different shots
But nothing was sweeter then Christmas Day (celebration #3). Spending time with Aunts and Uncles and Cousins and getting to see all of these wonderful kiddos again.
I really love my new camera and I’m so thankful for that gift, but the sweetest present for me was getting to spend time with my family.
I hope you all had fabulous Christmas’, blogging friends!!
*I need to give credit where credit is due... the pictures of: my parents and I with the baby, my brother, his wife and their three kids, the picture of me opening my Christmas present, and the picture of me and the 4 kiddos were all taken my my paparazzi brother. He's good, isn't he.

The Best Invention
I don't know who first came up with the idea or who actually molded the plastic to make it work oh-so-well, but have you ever tried these orange peelers? AMAZING! I don't know about you, and I could just be the strange one out there, but I really very much dislike getting the orange peel yellow stuff all in my nail beds and cuticles. It's a strange pet peeve, I know, but when I use my handy little peeler, that doesn't happen! And I've been eating oranges like it's going out of style lately... But now, my cuticles dont' look yellow and my fingers don't smell like oranges for the day. You see that handy little hook at the top? That slices into the peel for you to get it started. And the curved part at the bottom? That seperates the skin from the fruit! I know all of you have probably seen this and even used one before, but I had to share the orange peeler love in just case you haven't. And they're only like $1 from Pampered Chef!! Use one sometime, you'll be happy you did!
